    Superstition is Nonsense

James Randi offers a $1 million dollar prize for anyone who can demonstrate any type of paranormal powers under scientific conditions.

The application and procedures can be found at Randi.org.

Superstition is a paranormal power where the believer gives power to a rabbit's foot, a lucky coin, wearing the same socks, or other item or procedure.

There are ways to test the powers of such things. Unfortunately, or rather fortunately, the is no valid evidence of such powers.

A poker player should rely on his wits, experience, skills, and reads. That lucky coin emits no special powers. It's in your head, and no where else.

While their may be no legitimate proof that superstitions yield no unearthly powers, isn't giving the player/person the piece of mind that they get from that rabbit's foot, lucky coin, or ame pair of socks power enough? I mean, if that is what makes you feel comfortable and ready to play isn't that what i truly important and not whether or not it does give you a physical (or paranormal) advantage.
Or at least this is my opinion on the matter

My dirty sock which I have worn 173 times and not washed since I bought it is my lucky charm.
If there are good players in the game, I just lift up my foot and put it on the table... the players seem to leave the game.
    Is that scientific proof enough?

I always get lucky chips, they seem to gather more of their kind everytime I sit down!

I put my chips in a dirty sock I have warn over 234 times, I lose a few that fall through the hole, but at the table nobody wants em.
A good post is a supple and yielding thing. It is meant to be argued with and challenged. It is a battle ground for ideas and should show some evidence of a fight or at least some preliminary skirmishes. It is good for igniting minds. It is not the be-all and end-all of a balanced and productive life, but it can touch off needed thoughts and actions.

I have a very cool looking leather cowboy hat I've tried to say is my lucky hat. Any time I've sat down to play wearing it I've gotten absolutely reamed. Any time I've not worn it, I've come out ahead. It's an unlucky hat, which is a shame because it looks so good.
