  • Re: Some lessons are cheap.......

How hard did you slam them? I mean, was it enough to make you look like an ass?;) I definately have a certain 'showdown' with my cards, those babies ain't going no where until I know that pot is coming to me - and my toke always goes in w/ my cards, usually. Never lost a hand like this story...

Boy, does that suck. My condolences. You shouldn't feel stupid--just regret, of course, for the lost pot. It's never happened to me, but I have heard many stories like yours, invariably from the player who had the best hand, realized it after sweating out a scary board, and excitedly fired down...

  • Some lessons are cheap.......

some not so cheap, and you pay with your pride. How I learned to keep my emotions in check at the table: 20 minutes before I sat at the 3/6 full kill HE table they hit the bad beat jackpot for $15K. Guy that took the beat got $9K and proceeded to get DRUNK. Raised and reraised every pot every street...
  • Re: Golden Opportunity

Hey BrooklynKid and all. I also played this game at the Borgata in AC this weekend and at Caesar so I may have been next to you. I noticed a couple of things with this game and decided to run some numbers in regards to the bonus 1st. I noticed the AA pays higher than AK suited, yet AK suited is harder...

  • Re: Lesson Learned

Couple of years ago I played $20/40 in Taj. There was a guy on the table - I will call him SOB all below. That's three pots he played. 1. SOB raised from MP. All table folded except old man on BB who called. Does not matter what the flop was, SOB bet it, keep betting on the turn and on the river...

  • Golden Opportunity

Hey Gang, First off, let me say that I am not being a shill for this game. I think this game is a sucker game. But here it comes.... There was a new game that just showed up in our casino. Today was apparently the first night for the game. It's called Texas Hold'em Bonus by the Mikohn company...

  • Re: Playing Ax short handed

correct on your second point. Which is why it might be stupid to raise preflop... you have bad position. You are hoping the original raiser raises behind you either way, whether you raise or not. But also consider this... if you make it 3 bets preflop and the flops comes like Axx. And you bet, the...

  • Re: Early position 6 handed and you hold a high wired pair QQ+... do you ever attempt a slow play?

Quote from Kram: "Why refrain NiHeraNeSsu? This is a poker discussion board my friend;) Come on in and dump your thoughts......." Well, actually whatever reasons I may list are well known. But risking to be boring and based on your response I will dare to put them together. So why big pocket...

  • Re: Jacks down in MP make it three to go or call two?

[quote="Kram"] How do you all play jacks in a limit game? Do you make it 3 to go with Jacks, and also make it 3 to go with AK? Throwing opponents off? Then, also when you have AA/KK players can put you on other hands rather then AA/KK. If it's been raised and you think three betting will...

  • Re: To raise or not to raise A/X suited?

KJ is a cut off hand. K-10 is not really playable by a solid player, so whenever you play the silly hand and hit the King you are in BFT most of the time. AJ is that way, Q-10 is that way, J-10 is that way. It is just a hand that is trouble, and the likelyhood of trouble goes way up when you call a raise...
