  • Re: Some lessons are cheap.......

Boy, does that suck. My condolences. You shouldn't feel stupid--just regret, of course, for the lost pot. It's never happened to me, but I have heard many stories like yours, invariably from the player who had the best hand, realized it after sweating out a scary board, and excitedly fired down...

  • Re: Golden Opportunity

Hey BrooklynKid and all. I also played this game at the Borgata in AC this weekend and at Caesar so I may have been next to you. I noticed a couple of things with this game and decided to run some numbers in regards to the bonus 1st. I noticed the AA pays higher than AK suited, yet AK suited is harder...

  • When things go crazy

I got totally mad session last Sunday - it was $20/40 Holdem where I was ahead more than 1.5K and ended 1.4K down. This hand was a milestone after that I did not win any single hand for more than 4 hours of play. On a cutoff I call EP raise with after two more callers. BB three bet and 5 of us saw the...
  • Re: Hand simulation: 88 in MP....

Also, if you think you should lay down a big hand, just trust yourself and do it. Too often I take a flop with QQ or even KK feeling like I'm more than likely behind. Often time I'll take a loose flop praying for a set to save me. Then when the flop comes 4-5-9 I have a hard time mucking to one...

  • I got made fun of... what do you think?

I'm in late position holding . Two limpers in front of me and I call. The button raises and the BB and two others call. I call. Five to see the flop. Pot is 5.5 BB at this point. Flops is . One bet in front of me and I call. The pot is paying 10-1 on this call and I have two cards to go on my inside...

  • 4-th raise

Here is the tipical situation: You are on the button, everyone folds to you and you raise blinds with some legitimate hand - AT,AJ,AQ or AK. SB 3 bets trying to isolate you and BB calls. Do you guys put 4-th raise or just call ? Until recent time I mostly just called. However in this case I often found...
  • Re: Did I Play Smart Or Scared

Due to his pre-flop raise from the BB, you could have put him on Aces. So a re-raise here wouldn't be so bad... but it IS the river and you don't want to pay 3 bets JUST IN CASE he raised from the blind with QQ, JJ or AK of diamonds. The play was fine, don't get greedy.

  • Re: Low limit Hold Em, raising AK, AQ, AJ from BB

Not neccessarily. You aren't a favorite to win the hand over 4 other players. You probably aren't even more than a 30% favorite against 4 other random hands. Figure that with the fact that you are out of position to everyone, I would say that raising this all the time is not always a good idea...

  • Re: Interesting Statistical Analysis

PokerPlaya - Agreed. I was only pointing out (debating?) that the play of the hands (offsuit vs. suited) might be different therefore they may be considered unique in that respect. Riptide - 16 possibilities of AK or any other unpaired two cards - four suited, 12 offsuit. No argument, no debate, no problem...

  • Interesting Statistical Analysis

I have been using pokertracker for the last week and a half and have found it very useful. I just thought I would share some of the interesting conclusions I have seen from the software. I have found several leaks in my game, such as playing KT too aggressively, and some others. Although I have only...
