Wow! You can lay down some big hands. I am not half that good to be able to lay down Q's in limit holdem' before even seeing the flop.
My advice to you is to think of QQ less like "ooo baby pocket queens," and more like "I have the 3rd best possible...

  • Re: Some lessons are cheap.......

Boy, does that suck. My condolences. You shouldn't feel stupid--just regret, of course, for the lost pot. It's never happened to me, but I have heard many stories like yours, invariably from the player who had the best hand, realized it after sweating out a scary board, and excitedly fired down...

  • Re: 15/30$ LIMIT, 10$ SB forced to call?

    I would also never play these hands here: 25, 26, 36, 37, 47, 48, 58, 59, 69, T2, T3, T4, T5, T6, T7, J2, J3, J4, J5, J6, J7, Q2, Q3, Q4, Q5, Q6, Q7, Q8 and likely also others. I don't like the fact of playing any suited hand too. Suited hands only have a 3% advantage over unsuited hands... to me...

  • Re: I hate dropping the best hand....

Ya you might be right, the game was loose enough where I might have been better off playing the absolute value of my hand. I think I overthought it. As far as your first example goes.... it's quite different than my hand, imo. First of all it's 6 handed. There's a decent range of hands someone...

  • I hate dropping the best hand....

5-10 on Pacific. I limp into a 5- or 6-handed flop with from the SB. Flop comes . I bet, 2 callers. Turn comes . I bet, raise, raise.... These games on Pacific are usually loose, but it's not common to see a 3-bet without a real hand. I didn't really suspect him for K-Q (smooth calling the flop...
  • Re: Set on 4-flush board.

Fold. Originally I would say call but the :ac: is just going to raise behind you. He (she) probably has :ac: :kd: and flopped the classic top pair nut flush draw. UTG +1 obviously has :jh: :js: so the board pairing could actually give someone else quads and kill our hero. Even if hero rivered the case...

  • Re: new record - 3 players go on tilt after this hand!!

In an ironic twist of events, I was playing some 6-12 and got called all the way after I flopped a King to my wired kings against pocket Aces and a Q,J calling all the way. The play of the hand was much different as the chaser was calling 3 bets and had to hit runner, runner. Some days you are the big...

  • Re: Which Flush wins

A straight Flush os the best hand, the Ace does not play.
Why was the ace bloced out while they reviewed? It wasn't his fault.
• Re: I got made fun of... what do you think?

If you ask me, you played it correctly. If these guys can't take beats like this, they should not be playing poker, especially limit Hold'em. The fact that you just called, rather than raised with the cards on the board should have told him you were on the draw. When the 10 hit on the river,...
