  • Re: Nuts flush draw. Check, call or raise ?

In the second situation, if the flush card hits the turn and you check with the hopes of a CR, it's likely everyone else will check behind you in fear of the flush, costing you one or more bets. You might as well bet the turn. Someone (or more than one) will call, particularly those with outs against...

  • Some lessons are cheap.......

some not so cheap, and you pay with your pride. How I learned to keep my emotions in check at the table: 20 minutes before I sat at the 3/6 full kill HE table they hit the bad beat jackpot for $15K. Guy that took the beat got $9K and proceeded to get DRUNK. Raised and reraised every pot every street...
  • Re: Some fun hands!

I agree with that, Seed. You should avoid raising 44 preflop here. Your hand isn't that strong against multiple callers, and a raise isn't gonna limit the field much as a few players have already limped. Limp with your 44 and either flop a set or get out. Also, if you hold 44 in EP or MP folding...

  • Some fun hands!

Well the internet connection is back at my lunch time break spot so I've been playing a little over my breaks again. Downside is some personal circumstances resulted in me withdrawing about as much of my BR as I could. It left me with about $19 and some change on one site. Well I played a $5/$1 yesterday...
  • Re: Getting killed on Paradise Poker ...

LMAO! Wow Kram! Does PokerPlaya have you pegged or what? In regards to not being able to beat the low limit tables at Paradise I suggest you try a different site and see if your success/failure is any different. Paradise is a more mature site and the games might be just a tad tougher. The players might...

  • Re: Funny game last night...

Hi, Amy. I almost always win at the 3-6 game, not much, but, I win. I think $180 is the most I've cashed, but, I don't tend to play long. I've been mulling this over in my mind, constantly. Should I raise and cap every preflop hand I'm going to play, and make the 9-5s pay to beat me,...

  • Re: Loose Low Limit Game

Mully, I try to do the following things in a loose game. 1. Relax my starting requirements, try to see flops for cheap. I won't raise w/ small pairs if there are 6-7 players already in the hand. I'm not saying play every Ace or every hand in these games. Drawing hands will play better in these...

  • Re: Loose Low Limit Game

Mully, Having read HFAP numerous times and having tried numerous approaches I think I can sum up what he means. I tend to be a tighter player, and I used to tighten up when everyone else was loose. But by loosening up and outplaying your opponents after the flop you will lose a lot of small bets from...

I don't think there's a big flashing right answer on this one. I'd fold in general unless I have something else to go on. I don't think you can assume your hand is good right now, and I don't think you're guaranteed it's good if you hit. Let the BB have the crap flop and if...
