• Some fun hands!

Well the internet connection is back at my lunch time break spot so I've been playing a little over my breaks again. Downside is some personal circumstances resulted in me withdrawing about as much of my BR as I could. It left me with about $19 and some change on one site. Well I played a $5/$1 yesterday...
  • Re: Golden Opportunity

I played this game this past weekend and I do think it is beatable. My friend and I each bought in for $300 and he cashed out for $750 and I cashed out for $1200. The casino is still trying to figure this game out. Sitting in the last seat does give you the advantage of seeing what the other players...
Where in IN are you? What boat did you go to? I'm in Fort Wayne myself. BoB
I live in Beech Grove. (Southeast side of Indianapolis) We went to Caesars in New Albany on the Ohio River. There are tournaments around Indy at VFW’s & Knights of Columbus...

  • Re: May anybody play it different ?

Actually I like to play this hand with a bet unless the last to act is the original raiser, then I will almost always attempt a check raise. I do not like to play this flop passively. I think it is a mistake. For one the information you gain is a lot more reliable then what you gain when you let the...

  • Sandbagging

Long time ago I told myself :"Never ever slowplay any hand less than Nuts flush or a full house in multiway pots." I'm aware this statement is arguable and quite a few of decent players prefer to delay a raise up to the turn if they hold a big hand. Recently I played $10/20 HE 6-handed...
  • A fun hand

esterday, I got involved in one of those huge pots that really make your day. Glad I won it Was a fairly typical 6-12 game with one huge fish playing every hand. Anyway, blinds post and a loose player puts on a straddle. ($21 in pot). 2 callers before me and 1 after (69 in pot). Straddle man raises as...

  • Re: Nuts straight on turn.

Kram, I'm with you on this. Limit poker, especially anything us mortals play, you gotta raise. Sure, they'll probably call and you might lose one more bet but what can you do. Put another way, if one of those board cards pair on the river, you are still gonna pay off that full house. So jam it...

  • Re: Nuts straight on turn.

Raise always!!! In NLHE You need to destroy any implied and pot odds with the size of your raise. If you make a small raise you have made a mistake that can easily be followed by another mistake is you call a huge bet to a full house or larger straight made on the river. It is a good play to call a small...

  • Re: To raise or not to raise A/X suited?

Probably costing you. You only have about an 8% chance to hit a flush I believe with two suited cards before the flop. And if you get callers, you are in trouble, especially if an ace hits. If an ace hits, and you still have callers, you have pretty much lost. In this situation, with AXs, I think when...
