[quote="Calm Dragon"] 88 and lower are tough to hold. I may be in for a bet or two, to see if they will set up by the turn. I stayed in with a 44 last Sunday only because the board was no more than two of any suit, and none consecutive in rank. Turn was checked 'round. River gave me a set...

  • Re: Medium PP in LP

I always three bet TT and better against one player (original raiser). If his raise was already called or if there are more limpers before him I would three bet only QQ or better, rare JJ. As for smaller pairs against the single raiser I play both ways - I may three bet with any pocket pair, even with...

  • Re: Medium PP in LP

So much depends on the limit and if you have any info on the player raising. If I'm grinding low limit, playing 4 tables of 2-4 or 3-6, and against one raiser that I don't know to be particularly fishy or surprisingly decent, I will usually put in a 3rd bet with JJ and TT; 99 88 and 77 I'll...

  • Medium PP in LP

I wanted to bring up the topic of playing medium pocket pairs in late position. By medium I am referring to 88, 99, TT, maybe 77 or JJ. From what I see of a lot online is this: A player raises from some position in front of the player with the pair. The player with the pair will 3 bet his medium (or...
  • Re: Golden Opportunity

Hey BrooklynKid and all. I also played this game at the Borgata in AC this weekend and at Caesar so I may have been next to you. I noticed a couple of things with this game and decided to run some numbers in regards to the bonus 1st. I noticed the AA pays higher than AK suited, yet AK suited is harder...

  • Re: Leading out UTG?

I agree regarding full ring games. However I mostly (90+%) play shorthanded and I do play all these hands from any position. I never or almost never raise them but always call and sometimes even cold call the single raise. KTs shows me negative. Others, JTs, JTo,J9s,QTs,Q9s,T9s shows decent positive...

  • Re: Did I Play Smart Or Scared

Due to his pre-flop raise from the BB, you could have put him on Aces. So a re-raise here wouldn't be so bad... but it IS the river and you don't want to pay 3 bets JUST IN CASE he raised from the blind with QQ, JJ or AK of diamonds. The play was fine, don't get greedy.

  • Interesting Statistical Analysis

I have been using pokertracker for the last week and a half and have found it very useful. I just thought I would share some of the interesting conclusions I have seen from the software. I have found several leaks in my game, such as playing KT too aggressively, and some others. Although I have only...
  • Re: Early position 6 handed and you hold a high wired pair QQ+... do you ever attempt a slow play?

Quote from Kram: "Why refrain NiHeraNeSsu? This is a poker discussion board my friend;) Come on in and dump your thoughts......." Well, actually whatever reasons I may list are well known. But risking to be boring and based on your response I will dare to put them together. So why big pocket...
