  • Re: Some fun hands!

I agree with that, Seed. You should avoid raising 44 preflop here. Your hand isn't that strong against multiple callers, and a raise isn't gonna limit the field much as a few players have already limped. Limp with your 44 and either flop a set or get out. Also, if you hold 44 in EP or MP folding...

  • Nuts!

What are the odds? $.50/$1. Limit hold'em on UB In SB, I get Four players call pre-flop, I call, BB checks. Flop is . SB (me) bets, BB calls, MP raises, it is called around. No one folds. Turn is . Ummm, no flush possible, no pair on the board, higher straight not possible, hey, I have the nut straight...
  • When things go crazy

I got totally mad session last Sunday - it was $20/40 Holdem where I was ahead more than 1.5K and ended 1.4K down. This hand was a milestone after that I did not win any single hand for more than 4 hours of play. On a cutoff I call EP raise with after two more callers. BB three bet and 5 of us saw the...
  • Ummm......your head just exploded

On rare, wonderful days, everything clicks. You catch everything you need and other players love to get involved in pots where you have the nuts. Perfect bluffs make everyone fold. A semi-bluff flush draw gets a couple callers and you make the hand. I had a night like this Monday night in a 10-20 game...

  • Hand simulation: 88 in MP....

6 handed 5/10$ limit game MP in (3rd position) and UTG limps - 2nd pos. folds, I RAISE WITH ! folded to button who makes it THREE - BB flat calls and the UTG LIMPER makes it FOUR TO GO so it's another two small bets to me. I FOLD thinking the flop will just come over cards or I'm behind to the...

  • Re: Lesson Learned

Couple of years ago I played $20/40 in Taj. There was a guy on the table - I will call him SOB all below. That's three pots he played. 1. SOB raised from MP. All table folded except old man on BB who called. Does not matter what the flop was, SOB bet it, keep betting on the turn and on the river...

  • Re: Leading out UTG?

Yes but leading out UTG would force hands in MP/LP to fold. Say a rock solid player in MP that would fold K-Jo to a raise, or say pocket 6s. But you come in raising with pocket 5s or Q/Js both very very marginal hands pushing him out. I don't think limping in really ever is a good idea? Wrong, I'm...

  • Re: Jacks down in MP make it three to go or call two?

With NL...I view Jacks as I do a small pair. I will raise with them if it's folded to me or call a raise that is not a healthy portion of my stack. On the flop (provided I don't hit), it's touch and go...according to flop texture and opponents. A low flop is only good if I have managed to...

  • Re: To raise or not to raise A/X suited?

I can't figure out AKs... I played PL for the first time in a LONG time and doubled up my inital stake. I was cautiously aggressive, if there is such a term. Played tight unless I got quality stuff and I would really start in on people... not necessarily slow playing, more an attempt to figure out...

  • Re: Folding small pairs in the long run...

I usually muck in EP but I'll try to limp MP-LP. If its late in a tournament I'll raise from MP though. Kinda sucks folding early just to have everyone else limp and your set hits though. Or when you're in a $20 buy-in at Party over the weekend, in the SB with 2-2 and someone goes all-in...
