• Re: 15/30$ LIMIT, 10$ SB forced to call?
What would you suggest.... it's worth 5$ from the SB in those LV games, or just fold for FIVE dollars more??? It's gonna save me in the long run.... right?
Guess what Kram...it depends. Heh. Conditions would have to be absolutely perfect for you to get away with...

  • Re: Set on 4-flush board.

Pure probability says that: There is a 25% chance that none of your three opponents have a club. There is a 56% chance that none of them have a club larger than a 6. However: I agree that since there was so much flop betting, them having a big club is much more likely. But, the two checks make me think...

  • Funny game last night...

I played some 3-6 last night. I had been trying to pad my BR by quick cashing when I was up around a hundred, and that worked fine for a week or so. I took around $400 by only playing an hour or so. Last night I decided to "stay the course" a little and see what happens. I bought in for a hundred...

  • Re: Good books on Hold'em math (odds)?

What's killing me are the "Guru" books that say something like this...(and they all say something like this.) "If a player can catch nine cards to make his hand, he knows he is a 38-9 underdog on the next round, assuming 47 unseen cards. However, he incorrectly doubles his outs to...

  • Re: starting stacks, again... sorry!

ok then, here is a new question based on Polynomial's posting... she mentioned have at least 24 big blinds, or 12 big bets going into the game. but how often do you really end up capping it on every round of betting? I very rarely end up capping it for a few reasons.. 1. I raise, and opponent either...

  • Re: Hand simulation: 88 in MP....

Kram, Probably a bad laydown in my opinion. The pot is paying 7-1 (2 more SB into a 14.5 SB pot). It's 8-1 that you will catch your set. But if you do, you can just watch the profit roll in for the next few rounds of betting making the implied odds a lot bigger than the actual 7-1 pot odds. I can't...

  • Re: I got made fun of... what do you think?

Thanks for the reply, Otter. (and others) I agree the call on the flop is the most questionable call I made. You are right that I should have expected a raise and anticipated it in doing my figurin'. I didn't. Your reply will help me to consider this down the line. Even so, with four outs and...

  • Re: Winning percentages vs card odds

If you want to be a good poker player, you have to learn how to calculate different types of odds, most notably pot odds, in your head, not with the help of software. Pot odds, your chances of having the best hand on the end in relation to the size of the pot, should often determine whether or not you...

  • Re: Playing Ax short handed
yes they are likely to chase either way, but one way they may be getting poor odds to chase, and by raising and making the pot bigger preflop, they may be getting correct odds to chase. You would rather have someone chase without proper pot odds. I am not sure why I find...
