  • Re: Getting killed on Paradise Poker ...

LMAO! Wow Kram! Does PokerPlaya have you pegged or what? In regards to not being able to beat the low limit tables at Paradise I suggest you try a different site and see if your success/failure is any different. Paradise is a more mature site and the games might be just a tad tougher. The players might...

  • Re: Getting killed on Paradise Poker ...

"Doctor, it hurts when I do this." "Well.... then don't do that!" If you're having more success in the tournies than in the ring games, then stick to tournies. No reason to try to figure out why you're not beating low limit on paradise if it isn't working, just stick...

  • Re: Leading out UTG?

I agree regarding full ring games. However I mostly (90+%) play shorthanded and I do play all these hands from any position. I never or almost never raise them but always call and sometimes even cold call the single raise. KTs shows me negative. Others, JTs, JTo,J9s,QTs,Q9s,T9s shows decent positive...

  • Re: Interesting Statistical Analysis

Today I hit 6 month since a day I started to use PokerTracker. So far I have 26,000 ring games hands loaded into it. I did not load any tourney. I found it just terrific. Actually the best feature there (for me at least) is the rating of the opponents. I get 5,500 players in PokerTracker DB, 600 of which...

  • Re: Playing poker for a living

3 years??? hmmmm well, i will have to disagree with that. I'm of the opinion that you need to go after your dreams and if playing for living is your dream, as it is mine, then go for it, but with certain conditions in place. 1. Make sure your poker is paying you at least 2x what your regular full...

  • Re: Playing the cards or players?

While playing in a ring game of limit holdem, it may be considered more of a science... playing shorthanded limit poker is far from it. Reading your opponents in shorthanded games becomes much more critical because you are required to play more hands and play more aggressively. There is far more bluffing...

  • Re: Was wondering if you find more success at short table then full table?

Linda, Shame on you but thanks for the idea, Guffaw Guffaw. I usually play 6 handed on Ultimate and the hand values are completely different and that is what upsets people when they get drawn out on. The reason I like no-limit is you can prevent some of that by betting them off the pot. In ring games...

  • Re: Is it me or do online players play different then live?

The level of play in ring games seems real hit or miss to me right now. The thing that I see much much more of online than in real games is trash talking. There was a tourney couple days back -- I am super shortstacked -- maybe about T280 and blinds are 200/100, I pull K4s in EP and go all in. This guy...

  • Re: Raise or muck?

I only play low-limit ring games. "Raise or muck" is a phrase that I've heard several times over the years, and I wanted to get people's take on it. Say that you're heads-up with someone after the flop, and you can't put the other person on a hand. You know that what you have...
