• Re: Some lessons are cheap.......

Boy, does that suck. My condolences. You shouldn't feel stupid--just regret, of course, for the lost pot. It's never happened to me, but I have heard many stories like yours, invariably from the player who had the best hand, realized it after sweating out a scary board, and excitedly fired down...

  • Some lessons are cheap.......

some not so cheap, and you pay with your pride. How I learned to keep my emotions in check at the table: 20 minutes before I sat at the 3/6 full kill HE table they hit the bad beat jackpot for $15K. Guy that took the beat got $9K and proceeded to get DRUNK. Raised and reraised every pot every street...
  • Re: Set on 4-flush board.
Agree with Kram. Play it out and report it. BTW, did either apparently colluding player end up folding? Thanks, Charlie
Kings folded, Irrelevant card hit the river and MP3 won it by single bet without showdown. I do not see any sense reporting it - they will not give...

  • Gotta dumb question...

There's only me and you at the showdown. I roll first, you look and toss your hand face down, admitting defeat. I thought I read somewhere that any player at the table can request to see your hand. The reason given was for protection against you being my brother in law, and raising everybody out...

  • Re: Loose Low Limit Game

I don't have a problem folding crap hands. I look for opportunity to fold, before opportunity to bet. I honestly am not one of those that crys when folded crap hands hit, that one was just notable. I do watch every hand play out, even after folding, and by folding crap, I truly miss very, very few...

  • The worst play I seen

$5/10 holdem. 6-handed. UTG limps in. All fold to SB. SB raises. BB folds, UTG calls. Flop SB bets, UTG calls. Turn SB checks, UTG checks River : SB bets, UTG raises, SB three bets, UTG caps. Showdown, UTG: - three Aces SB: - straight Russian Mike. Bad bet is better than good call.
  • Re: Interesting Statistical Analysis

Today I hit 6 month since a day I started to use PokerTracker. So far I have 26,000 ring games hands loaded into it. I did not load any tourney. I found it just terrific. Actually the best feature there (for me at least) is the rating of the opponents. I get 5,500 players in PokerTracker DB, 600 of which...

  • Re: Did I Play Smart Or Scared

I agree, you played it perfectly. Why raise into a possible flush? But going to showdown, especially with no other flush card hitting, is absolutely correct.

  • Should I fold it ?

Please play this hand with me. $10/20 HE, 6 handed, UTG folds, I'm next with and raise, calling station on the button calls, SB (good and tricky player) calls, and BB (total idiot) calls too. 4 of us see the flop SB checks, BB bets to me. That's what I wanted, he bet anything so I raise trying...
