  • Re: Medium PP in LP

So much depends on the limit and if you have any info on the player raising. If I'm grinding low limit, playing 4 tables of 2-4 or 3-6, and against one raiser that I don't know to be particularly fishy or surprisingly decent, I will usually put in a 3rd bet with JJ and TT; 99 88 and 77 I'll...

  • Re: Some fun hands!

In limit poker, if 2 players go to the river heads up, the # of raises allowed is unlimited. I've seen this in an Omaha game where one person had quads and the other had a str8 flush. The game was 8/16 so it took a while for them to raise to get all in. Lady never did figure out she was beaten until...

  • Re: Fun at 2-4 table.

They let him just 'go all in' even though it was limit? I understand that there is no cap heads up... but usually this isn't allowed. At least, when I was playing low limit at the Mirage they wouldn't let me. Also at the Bellagio. LINDA!!! Heads up on the river, in a limit game - both...

  • Re: small pairs for implied odds

In NL: the preflop allin odds are 4.5 to 1 against hitting yours Set by time the river comes. Overpairs are a 1.6 to 1 underdog against you.... But in Limit: 8 to 1 against...so u basically must flop a Set to continue. Limping in in LP is the best move preflop. Conclusion: i luv small pocket pairs heads...

  • Re: 6 handed, SB, all fold to you, ever just call?

    1. The hand is not playable unless you can raise and there are not many hands I would raise in that position. 2. Yes all the time, of course if I have a big hand I raise. I love the free flop, they are rarely limping with big hands to trap, almost any flop checked to you can be bet and won. Raising with...

  • 6 handed, SB, all fold to you, ever just call?

Here's a question from a newbie to your site. 6 handed limit game, your in the small blind, playing fairly tight/aggressive. First 4 to act all fold. Do you ever just call? Of coarse, you muck losing hands and don't make loose calls just because its heads up, but if you have a playable hand do...

  • Pot Limit vs. Fixed Limit

Hey everyone! Upfront, please keep in mind that I still am only playing with play money, and that might be coloring my experience (for various reasons I am unable to play poker for money online). One thing I noticed is that I always had trouble making progress in limit hold'em... I couldn't draw...
  • Re: Raise or muck?

How does this loose player play preflop heads up with an Ace? Does he raise, slow play it? I'd most definately bet here- and call all the way down, specially in limit against a LOOSE player. Against a more tight opponent I'd change it up a bit.

  • Re: Ok- would you prefer.... HELP!

In a heads up confrontation its nearly a coinflip as Angel mentions. And you often will se a showdown in no limit tournaments with this, when the blind gets high. In a multiway pot in limit poker I prefer the medium pairs, as its pretty easy to play when you hit your set. I usually just bet and raise...
