Lee Jones: Winning Low Limit Hold'em Sklansky - Hold'em Poker & Hold'em for Advanced Players
I agree with Stephen here about these three books but the Small Stakes Sklansky book you are reading now is absolutely key if you are only playing typical...

  • Re: SHould I bother getting new books?

HE For Advanced Players is THE definitive Limit Hold'Em book. If you ever want to move up from small stakes I suggest you read all the material you can get. Most concepts are universal to all forms of poker. Honestly I don't rate these Low Limit books. Why learn to beat low limit when you can...

  • Some fun hands!

Well the internet connection is back at my lunch time break spot so I've been playing a little over my breaks again. Downside is some personal circumstances resulted in me withdrawing about as much of my BR as I could. It left me with about $19 and some change on one site. Well I played a $5/$1 yesterday...
  • Good Humor Play

On the way home from last night, I decided to stop in at Commerce and try something I've been thinking of doing for the last week or so. The game is $1/$2 limit hold'em. Most folk buy the $1 chips. Me, I asked for the Fifty Cent chips. Cashier says " A rack of peach ?" "Yes Please"...

  • Re: I got made fun of... what do you think?

If you ask me, you played it correctly. If these guys can't take beats like this, they should not be playing poker, especially limit Hold'em. The fact that you just called, rather than raised with the cards on the board should have told him you were on the draw. When the 10 hit on the river,...

  • Re: starting stacks, again... sorry!
I know i vaguely brought this up before and you all answered it very well in the no limit section, but i'd like to get opinions on what people sit with at limit tables. Tanya had suggested to me $100 for the $3/6. I've found that works well. I actually perfer $115...

Tanya had suggested to me $100 for the $3/6. I've found that works well. I actually perfer $115 or $120, i think it's mental...
