• Re: Medium PP in LP
88 and lower are tough to hold. I may be in for a bet or two, to see if they will set up by the turn. I stayed in with a 44 last Sunday only because the board was no more than two of any suit, and none consecutive in rank. Turn was checked 'round. River gave me a set...
Lee Jones: Winning Low Limit Hold'em Sklansky - Hold'em Poker & Hold'em for Advanced Players
I agree with Stephen here about these three books but the Small Stakes Sklansky book you are reading now is absolutely key if you are only playing typical...

  • Re: Getting killed on Paradise Poker ...

Dennis, No matter what site or what B&M you are in, the low limit games are going to be like this. When 7 people see the flop, someone is bound to have something that can beat you. You have to change your strategy to be successful in these games. Bluffing and semi-bluffing don't work well...

LMAO! Wow Kram! Does PokerPlaya have you pegged or what? In regards to not being able to beat the low limit tables at Paradise I suggest you try a different site and see if your success/failure is any different. Paradise is a more mature site and the games might be just a tad tougher. The players might...
Online, 10-20 or 15-30 is no tighter than the lower limit games usually. IMO, live is much different and will be a little tighter.
Interesting. I have heard just the opposite. On-line games are much tougher than B&M at higher limits. I have been told by those...

  • Re: starting stacks, again... sorry!

Easy question but there are a few twist. The minimum buy in is 10 times the big bet at most Casinos. Some authors advocate that you buy into a limit game with a large stack for several reasons. One is that it let's your opponents at the table know that you plan to be in the game for a long time....

  • Re: Opinions...Is it me, or....

I usaully look in the seats to my right and left, they are easy enough to spot, they are in the seats to my right and left. Really a good player is more the exception then the rule. Especially in the low limit games. Every player makes mistakes, the advantage to playing weak players is that they do not...
(I see how this would be the strategy in a no limit game , But I dont see how I could make this work in the limit games I play in, Where bluffing is not really an option due to the multi pots and if I was making a play on someone they arent paying enough attention to notice...
