  • Re: Some fun hands!

Bob, Nice freaking hand that second hand. Wow! I can't believe that he kept betting. Anyway. Tempering this statement by saying that I normally don't play limit poker, I think you should reevaluate how you played that first hand. I think the raise pre-flop was questionable. Once you had raised...

  • Re: Some fun hands!

In limit poker, if 2 players go to the river heads up, the # of raises allowed is unlimited. I've seen this in an Omaha game where one person had quads and the other had a str8 flush. The game was 8/16 so it took a while for them to raise to get all in. Lady never did figure out she was beaten until...

  • Re: Getting killed on Paradise Poker ...

You face far more suck outs in LOW LIMIT poker as everyones always drawing. Sometimes that's hard to beat....

  • Re: I got made fun of... what do you think?

Odds were good all the way for calling. It's not a huge suckout at this point, the odds were about 10.5:1 for getting the 10 on the river. You are getting about that from the pot. I never understand why players get upset about this type of play. I know and you know that approx. 90% of the time the...

  • Re: Loose Low Limit Game

Thanks for the response PP, and Dustin "No one is scared of a check" Wow youve opened my eyes to a whole new world of strategy! I definitly need to loosen up pre flop though I lost a rack in 1 hour yesterday, not being able to clear the field with my high pairs and losing to 2 pair or someone...

  • Re: I had never played limit before...

Be aware that what you are describing is not your average limit game. You happened to be stuck at a table full of calling stations. You can still win...mostly through your post flop decisions. But you will have to open up you starting requirements. The nice things about these tables...is that when you...

  • Re: Playing the cards or players?

While playing in a ring game of limit holdem, it may be considered more of a science... playing shorthanded limit poker is far from it. Reading your opponents in shorthanded games becomes much more critical because you are required to play more hands and play more aggressively. There is far more bluffing...

  • Re: Nuts straight on turn.

Kram, I'm with you on this. Limit poker, especially anything us mortals play, you gotta raise. Sure, they'll probably call and you might lose one more bet but what can you do. Put another way, if one of those board cards pair on the river, you are still gonna pay off that full house. So jam it...

  • Re: Playing in loose games

Well, as I understand it... Like you said, a raise preflop may give them correct odds to call on the flop. Your goal is for players to make mistakes (call with hands that have a smaller chance of winning than the pot odds). If you think just in terms of that, then their statement may be abstract, but...

  • A/Xo from the SB, how to play in no limit and limit poker!

I completely hate a/xo, whether it be A/Qo or A/9o or A/2o. I hate getting it in ANY position even when it's free as the BB. How do you play this hand? In limit poker I toss every single garbage ace I run into- but in NO LIMIT cash games and tournament play are you supposed to be playing this hand...
