• Re: Live game and online poker.. Which one is better?

Advantages of live poker: -Better ability to read opponents and pick up tells, obviously. Even in a 3-6 limit game, you quickly get an idea after sitting down who is the table maniac, rock, clueless fish, etc., and can adjust your game accordingly. -Social aspects of the game (very underrated). -Collecting...

  • Re: Getting killed on Paradise Poker ...

I would chalk it up to the stakes. At those levels it's nothing more than a total crap shoot. I know so many people that play those limits almost litterally with their eyes closed simply because they are playing a higher limit at the same time and want something to kill the time while waiting for...

  • Re: Nuts flush draw. Check, call or raise ?

If you are playing low limit. Raise till this moon drops no matter what. Higher limits, I guess, I'd call the flop. Then raise the turn to the moon.

  • Re: SHould I bother getting new books?

HE For Advanced Players is THE definitive Limit Hold'Em book. If you ever want to move up from small stakes I suggest you read all the material you can get. Most concepts are universal to all forms of poker. Honestly I don't rate these Low Limit books. Why learn to beat low limit when you can...

  • Re: Loose Low Limit Game
Online, 10-20 or 15-30 is no tighter than the lower limit games usually. IMO, live is much different and will be a little tighter.
Interesting. I have heard just the opposite. On-line games are much tougher than B&M at higher limits. I have been told by those...

  • Re: starting stacks, again... sorry!
(No, it's just that more often at higher limit tables, the game isn't no foldem holdem. Less players will see flops and overall the game will be tighter... there will be less players calling down to the river every time.)
yes, that was nice. finally sitting...

  • Re: starting stacks, again... sorry!
is it just me, or does the increased pot size on the bigger limits seem to offset the higher stakes of each hand you play? I noticed if really played tight like i would at 3/6 and not get to zealous with my betting, then the eventual wins really offset the losses more than...

  • Re: I got made fun of... what do you think?

If you ask me, you played it correctly. If these guys can't take beats like this, they should not be playing poker, especially limit Hold'em. The fact that you just called, rather than raised with the cards on the board should have told him you were on the draw. When the 10 hit on the river,...

  • Re: Opinions...Is it me, or....

I usaully look in the seats to my right and left, they are easy enough to spot, they are in the seats to my right and left. Really a good player is more the exception then the rule. Especially in the low limit games. Every player makes mistakes, the advantage to playing weak players is that they do not...

i've been playing poker for a while, but at casinos for only a very VERY short time. in fact gained the courage to first try it because of the fine folks here... but... In my limited experience spotting the rich or uncaring about the money players isn't really the main concern. It's more...
