  • Re: Question: Playing Time and Win/Loss Amounts for a Session

I think first it's important to realize - as I think you do - that over the long run, playing winning poker is all that matters. It's more important that you are playing better than you opponents, than how long you will be playing for or what will make you walk away. That being said, starting...

  • Re: Question: Playing Time and Win/Loss Amounts for a Session

Good advice would be to have a set number of hours you will play for each night (I suggest not many as you have a real job, maybe 3) but also set a limit for your losses in a night (a number well withing your comfort zone) and if you reach that limit stop for the night, since maybe the table is bad or...

  • Question: Playing Time and Win/Loss Amounts for a Session

Hi all - I have a question about Playing Time and Win/Loss Amounts for a Session. My typical game is $2-4 HE or $1-2 stud online. Although I enjoy playing the games, my number one goal is to win, or at least break even. I have a good job so it's not the actual money I'm concerned with, but it...
  • Re: Getting killed on Paradise Poker ...

Dennis, No matter what site or what B&M you are in, the low limit games are going to be like this. When 7 people see the flop, someone is bound to have something that can beat you. You have to change your strategy to be successful in these games. Bluffing and semi-bluffing don't work well...

  • Re: Good Humor Play

Hi Doc. I live in East L.A. Commerce is about two miles from me. I went to Hawaiian Gardens tonight and did the same thing. Doubled up from a 'rack of peach' to a 'rack of blue' and then some. Again, no respect from any of the other players for the guy with peach chips. One guy tonight...

  • Re: Gotta dumb question...

I think asking to see a losing hand is rude and discourteous. It will drive some players out of the game. Yes...it is legal in low limit, but why? Unless you think collusion is going on or you want to NEEDLE someone, who cares what they had? Get on with the game and quit the childish crap of making sure...

  • Re: starting stacks, again... sorry!

ok then, here is a new question based on Polynomial's posting... she mentioned have at least 24 big blinds, or 12 big bets going into the game. but how often do you really end up capping it on every round of betting? I very rarely end up capping it for a few reasons.. 1. I raise, and opponent either...

  • Re: Loose Low Limit Game

Thanks for the response PP, and Dustin "No one is scared of a check" Wow youve opened my eyes to a whole new world of strategy! I definitly need to loosen up pre flop though I lost a rack in 1 hour yesterday, not being able to clear the field with my high pairs and losing to 2 pair or someone...

  • Re: Live game and online poker.. Which one is better?

Wow old thread back up top.... I wrote this, 'I prefer UltimateBet over all online sites. Just my opinion though;)' Yuck! I posted that?!?!?! Since my last response to this thread my opinions on UltimateBet have changed drastically as I truly believe that there is something wrong w/ their RNG...

  • Re: 6 handed, SB, all fold to you, ever just call?

    1. The hand is not playable unless you can raise and there are not many hands I would raise in that position. 2. Yes all the time, of course if I have a big hand I raise. I love the free flop, they are rarely limping with big hands to trap, almost any flop checked to you can be bet and won. Raising with...
