  • Re: Medium PP in LP

[quote="Calm Dragon"] 88 and lower are tough to hold. I may be in for a bet or two, to see if they will set up by the turn. I stayed in with a 44 last Sunday only because the board was no more than two of any suit, and none consecutive in rank. Turn was checked 'round. River gave me a set...

  • Re: Medium PP in LP

So much depends on the limit and if you have any info on the player raising. If I'm grinding low limit, playing 4 tables of 2-4 or 3-6, and against one raiser that I don't know to be particularly fishy or surprisingly decent, I will usually put in a 3rd bet with JJ and TT; 99 88 and 77 I'll...

  • Re: Some fun hands!

I agree with that, Seed. You should avoid raising 44 preflop here. Your hand isn't that strong against multiple callers, and a raise isn't gonna limit the field much as a few players have already limped. Limp with your 44 and either flop a set or get out. Also, if you hold 44 in EP or MP folding...

  • Re: Loose Low Limit Game

Thanks for the response PP, and Dustin "No one is scared of a check" Wow youve opened my eyes to a whole new world of strategy! I definitly need to loosen up pre flop though I lost a rack in 1 hour yesterday, not being able to clear the field with my high pairs and losing to 2 pair or someone...

  • Re: Leading out UTG?

I would much rather limp with JQs. You want a lot of callers with JQs, you don't want to limit the field, you should be trying to attract as many players as possible, because this is a hand with high implied odds. Same thing with small-medium pocket pairs... you either want 0 or 1 player in the pot...

  • Re: May anybody play it different ?

Actually I like to play this hand with a bet unless the last to act is the original raiser, then I will almost always attempt a check raise. I do not like to play this flop passively. I think it is a mistake. For one the information you gain is a lot more reliable then what you gain when you let the...

  • Re: Playing Ax short handed

One thing I disagree with most of your guys posts is number 5. Where you have AK and there is a raise and almost everyone calls. I feel often it is not correct to reraise from the blind. All you are doing is making the pot bigger, no one is going to fold. And by making the pot bigger, you are giving...

  • Re: small pairs for implied odds

In NL: the preflop allin odds are 4.5 to 1 against hitting yours Set by time the river comes. Overpairs are a 1.6 to 1 underdog against you.... But in Limit: 8 to 1 against...so u basically must flop a Set to continue. Limping in in LP is the best move preflop. Conclusion: i luv small pocket pairs heads...

  • Re: Nuts straight on turn.

"Ya, definitely depends. All I can add to this is that calling might be effective because this pot (with 6? callers) is big enough that everyone who has outs is probably gonna chase anyway, so don't raise off the top pair, two pairs who don't have much if any chance of outdrawing you anyway...

  • Re: Nuts straight on turn.

You have to raise here, and what really are the chances of the board being 4 different suit... very un-likely. By the time you hit the turn, the board normally has AT LEAST 2 of the same suit. But lets pre-tend:) In a limit game, with that much money in the pot- I'd most definately RAISE IT UP. These...
