• Re: Getting killed on Paradise Poker ...

Hey dennis, I to am a LL player working my way up the ranks. when you get ready, I play the .50/1 at interpoker. the play isn't too loose, usually 5 players to flop. They do a 100% mth every month up to $90, which helps us low limit players build a bankroll a little faster. I put in 30 bucks about...

  • Re: Live game and online poker.. Which one is better?

Advantages of live poker: -Better ability to read opponents and pick up tells, obviously. Even in a 3-6 limit game, you quickly get an idea after sitting down who is the table maniac, rock, clueless fish, etc., and can adjust your game accordingly. -Social aspects of the game (very underrated). -Collecting...

  • Re: Getting killed on Paradise Poker ...

I would chalk it up to the stakes. At those levels it's nothing more than a total crap shoot. I know so many people that play those limits almost litterally with their eyes closed simply because they are playing a higher limit at the same time and want something to kill the time while waiting for...

  • Re: 15/30$ LIMIT, 10$ SB forced to call?

    I would also never play these hands here: 25, 26, 36, 37, 47, 48, 58, 59, 69, T2, T3, T4, T5, T6, T7, J2, J3, J4, J5, J6, J7, Q2, Q3, Q4, Q5, Q6, Q7, Q8 and likely also others. I don't like the fact of playing any suited hand too. Suited hands only have a 3% advantage over unsuited hands... to me...

  • Question: Playing Time and Win/Loss Amounts for a Session

Hi all - I have a question about Playing Time and Win/Loss Amounts for a Session. My typical game is $2-4 HE or $1-2 stud online. Although I enjoy playing the games, my number one goal is to win, or at least break even. I have a good job so it's not the actual money I'm concerned with, but it...
Lee Jones: Winning Low Limit Hold'em Sklansky - Hold'em Poker & Hold'em for Advanced Players
I agree with Stephen here about these three books but the Small Stakes Sklansky book you are reading now is absolutely key if you are only playing typical...

  • Re: SHould I bother getting new books?

HE For Advanced Players is THE definitive Limit Hold'Em book. If you ever want to move up from small stakes I suggest you read all the material you can get. Most concepts are universal to all forms of poker. Honestly I don't rate these Low Limit books. Why learn to beat low limit when you can...

  • Re: Some fun hands!

I agree with that, Seed. You should avoid raising 44 preflop here. Your hand isn't that strong against multiple callers, and a raise isn't gonna limit the field much as a few players have already limped. Limp with your 44 and either flop a set or get out. Also, if you hold 44 in EP or MP folding...

  • Re: Some fun hands!

In limit poker, if 2 players go to the river heads up, the # of raises allowed is unlimited. I've seen this in an Omaha game where one person had quads and the other had a str8 flush. The game was 8/16 so it took a while for them to raise to get all in. Lady never did figure out she was beaten until...
