  • Re: Some lessons are cheap.......

Boy, does that suck. My condolences. You shouldn't feel stupid--just regret, of course, for the lost pot. It's never happened to me, but I have heard many stories like yours, invariably from the player who had the best hand, realized it after sweating out a scary board, and excitedly fired down...

  • Re: Golden Opportunity

Hey BrooklynKid and all. I also played this game at the Borgata in AC this weekend and at Caesar so I may have been next to you. I noticed a couple of things with this game and decided to run some numbers in regards to the bonus 1st. I noticed the AA pays higher than AK suited, yet AK suited is harder...

  • Interesting Statistical Analysis

I have been using pokertracker for the last week and a half and have found it very useful. I just thought I would share some of the interesting conclusions I have seen from the software. I have found several leaks in my game, such as playing KT too aggressively, and some others. Although I have only...
  • Re: May anybody play it different ?

This happens pretty often to me on those 15/30 6handed tables on party. For instance last night I was playing and had AK and raised preflop I think from UTG. Flop came KJT. I bet and it got raised and then reraised behind me, I thought I was making a bad call, but called anyways. The turn was a blank...

  • Re: small pairs for implied odds

Well let's assume that you do know you are surely beat preflop... it illustrates my question better. Suppose someone holds QQ and someone else holds AK and it's 3 bets to you. Assume when you hit your set you get called down by one person. You win a pot of 19 bets (not counting the blinds) when...

  • Re: Jacks down in MP make it three to go or call two?

[quote="Kram"] How do you all play jacks in a limit game? Do you make it 3 to go with Jacks, and also make it 3 to go with AK? Throwing opponents off? Then, also when you have AA/KK players can put you on other hands rather then AA/KK. If it's been raised and you think three betting will...

  • Re: Jacks down in MP make it three to go or call two?

Actually Pokerplayer...I was referring to exact situations. For instance...holding AK and flopping either an Ace or a King was listed at Mike Caro University as being 32.43%...whereas you just stated 36.75%. Any ideas on why this is? - Than FLOPS FOR SELECTED HOLD 'EM HANDS [table cellSpacing=0 cellPadding...

  • Re: Limit - VRS - No Limit

Yes, tight is right in NLHE. But you can't just play AA,KK and expect to win. You have to size up your opponents and play accordingly. The uberaggressive fish play any crud and usually one or two get lucky and stack up early. Its best to play tight, but then try and isolate them and play heads up...

  • Re: Limit - VRS - No Limit

This post was a long time ago but I found it interesting. The slow-fast-slow-fast approach has worked really well for me in single table NL tourneys. I play very tight early and usually don't play unless I have AA KK or AK. Big cards or pairs in LP with a limper or two I might play. I like having...

  • Re: question about a specific hand...

I had a hand similar to this one, multi table tournament online. It was pretty late in the tournament, maybe the final table I do not recall, I had about 25K in TC, NLH, blinds where 3/6K. I was in the small blind pair of threes. Everyone folded till the button made a small steal raise, like 8K. My thinking...
