• Re: SHould I bother getting new books?
Lee Jones: Winning Low Limit Hold'em Sklansky - Hold'em Poker & Hold'em for Advanced Players
I agree with Stephen here about these three books but the Small Stakes Sklansky book you are reading now is absolutely key if you are only playing typical...

I personally didn't like Lee Jones book. I thought it was too methodical. As always, I highly suggest HP for advanced players, and The Theory of Poker (but this also covers other games).

  • Re: SHould I bother getting new books?

HE For Advanced Players is THE definitive Limit Hold'Em book. If you ever want to move up from small stakes I suggest you read all the material you can get. Most concepts are universal to all forms of poker. Honestly I don't rate these Low Limit books. Why learn to beat low limit when you can...

  • Re: Good books on Hold'em math (odds)?

What's killing me are the "Guru" books that say something like this...(and they all say something like this.) "If a player can catch nine cards to make his hand, he knows he is a 38-9 underdog on the next round, assuming 47 unseen cards. However, he incorrectly doubles his outs to...

  • Loose Low Limit Game

Just looking for some opinions I am a low limit player, 4-8 to 5-10 . Anyway the games I play in tend to be filled with timid loose players, Theres always two at the table that will call any ace or medium pair to the river. They just started spreading poker at the casino here and EVERYONE wants in.(...

  • Re: Losing at online low limit

Play very tight. 40% is way to loose at micro limits. You can beat this games simply by waiting for the premimum starting hands and then playing them very aggressively. There is no fancy play at these limits. You just rock it out to beat the game. Take a look at the starting hands table from poker for...

  • Playing in loose games

I was going through the Hold'em Poker for advanced players chapter on playing in loose games and came across something that made me think too hard (me being feeble minded and all). S & M are talking about frequently keeping it to a single bet before the flop, and say that when .... "if...
  • Re: Beginners Question

I think RoyalVegas has a lot of freerolls. I've not tried this site yet. I play at UltimateBet, Pokerstars and infrequently on Party. I like the UB graphics and Stars has the best tourneys. I only play the pot-limit and no-limit on Party. The key thing to remember is play money and real money are...
