  • Re: Nuts flush draw. Check, call or raise ?

I guess it depends on your feel for the table. If UTG is fairly aggressive post-flop, and you're sure he's betting the turn even with the third heart out there, then you should set up the CR, especially since you are in perfect position to trap any bettors caught in between. I agree that a set...

  • Re: 15/30$ LIMIT, 10$ SB forced to call?

    I would also never play these hands here: 25, 26, 36, 37, 47, 48, 58, 59, 69, T2, T3, T4, T5, T6, T7, J2, J3, J4, J5, J6, J7, Q2, Q3, Q4, Q5, Q6, Q7, Q8 and likely also others. I don't like the fact of playing any suited hand too. Suited hands only have a 3% advantage over unsuited hands... to me...

  • Re: Low limit Hold Em, raising AK, AQ, AJ from BB

Not neccessarily. You aren't a favorite to win the hand over 4 other players. You probably aren't even more than a 30% favorite against 4 other random hands. Figure that with the fact that you are out of position to everyone, I would say that raising this all the time is not always a good idea...

  • Re: Playing Ax short handed

For me...these questions are completely player dependant. Lately I have played a fair amount at 6 handed tables. I have found that if you play with the same players and KNOW their habits, then seat selection becomes extremely important to your bottom line. Not sure if I have the time to do this justice...

  • Re: small pairs for implied odds

If it's against a player who I'm sure has a big pair then I'll muck. I won't let the underflop tempt me. If I'm against two players that are likley to raise and 3-bet on big cards then I'll bet out / raise and try to figure out where I'm at. Generally I'll be happy to...

  • Re: Playing in loose games

Well, as I understand it... Like you said, a raise preflop may give them correct odds to call on the flop. Your goal is for players to make mistakes (call with hands that have a smaller chance of winning than the pot odds). If you think just in terms of that, then their statement may be abstract, but...

  • Re: Value Raising

I think you might be correct about discussing proper plays with your neighbor. I guess that is a major leak in my game. If I am sitting next to someone who I consider a good player I try to talk about different plays to see what their take on it it. Just like this forum. Back to the original topic. I...

  • 4-hands (long)

I just got back from my weekly jaunt to LA to play at the Commerce. I take the train up in the morning and get a room for the night; this allows me to play two days which usually breaks down to about 4 sessions of 4 hours at larger limits and frequently better games than I am able to play at the local...
