  • Re: Nuts flush draw. Check, call or raise ?

I would most likely just call instead of raise. By raising you aren't going to get a free card on the turn if it doesn't hit as easily because there are so many players. But more so, by just calling, if it does hit, you are hoping the same player bets because then you can get callers in between...

  • Re: Some fun hands!

I agree with that, Seed. You should avoid raising 44 preflop here. Your hand isn't that strong against multiple callers, and a raise isn't gonna limit the field much as a few players have already limped. Limp with your 44 and either flop a set or get out. Also, if you hold 44 in EP or MP folding...

  • Re: Loose Low Limit Game

Mully, I try to do the following things in a loose game. 1. Relax my starting requirements, try to see flops for cheap. I won't raise w/ small pairs if there are 6-7 players already in the hand. I'm not saying play every Ace or every hand in these games. Drawing hands will play better in these...

Your goal is for players to make mistakes (call with hands that have a smaller chance of winning than the pot odds). If you think just in terms of that, then their statement may be abstract, but...

  • Re: Hand at the card club

There is no question in my mind that the hand should have been folded to two bets on the turn. You are paying off other players with that mistake. However, if it had been just one bet, and the players are tight, it may be correct to raise. If you are reraised, you are almost always up against a set or...

  • 4-hands (long)

I just got back from my weekly jaunt to LA to play at the Commerce. I take the train up in the morning and get a room for the night; this allows me to play two days which usually breaks down to about 4 sessions of 4 hours at larger limits and frequently better games than I am able to play at the local...
